Trailer
A solo dance in which the performer’s biological functions take control of the interactive environment. The dancer’s heartbeat, muscle activity, and breath are captured through sensors attached to the body, generating visuals and sound in response to her movements. This process produces complex data organically, creating an intimate link between the performer’s biological body and the surrounding, networked environment. As a result, the boundary between body and environment begins to dissolve, giving rise to a hybrid, unified entity.
The piece explores the merging of the biological and the technological, challenging the distinction between the two. It reflects on how technological mediation reshapes human identity, rethinking the body not as a fixed, purely organic form but as something extended, relational, and continuously transformed. It questions where “living” begins to exceed the biological.
By speculating on the interplay between biology and modified corporeality, the work considers how human experience might be transferred onto non-biological platforms—raising questions around essence, consciousness, embodiment, and identity.
